REGULAR SERVICES RESUME
Beginning Sunday, December 20, 2020 All Weekly Services and Classes Will Resume. Continuing, 11AM Service Streaming on Facebook and broadcast on FM 105.9 on the church Parking Lot.
As of July 5, 2020
Update on services at Northside. As you all know by now, Governor Abbott has issued a mandatory face mask requirement for all Texans when out in public. Churches are exempt from this requirement. However, several are asking about our services. What I feel we need to do is to continue as we have been doing. We will have church inside, at least for now. I encourage everyone who is not yet comfortable in doing that to take advantage of the parking lot broadcast or our live Face Book telecast. Also, many of you are wearing your face mask in the services. Though it is not required, I think it is a good idea. I plan to be wearing mine, except when I preach. We will continue to distance ourselves in our classes and the auditorium. I am fully aware that this is a bad virus and want to take every precaution. Thank you for helping in all these ways so that we do not have to close down church
again. God bless you all,
Gathering in the Church Building (as of June 7th)
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
We want to make sure that we are abiding by the Federal, State, and common sense protocols. WE WANT THE BUILDING TO BE SAFE AND FOR YOU TO FEEL SAFE COMING BACK INSIDE FOR WORSHIP!
Sunday School again at 9:45, Morning Worship at 11:00, and Sunday Evening worship at 7:00. The Sunday Evening Adult Bible Study Class will meet at 6:00, only at this time we will meet in the Fellowship Hall. Wednesday night Prayer Meeting will be at 7:00. Rest assured that we are doing everything that we can to disinfect the building and will continue to do that in the future. We are going to trust the Lord that coming back into the church building will not be the cause for anyone to get sick. I am grateful for the Parking Lot church experience. In so many ways, it was a good experience even though we know that was not a permanent solution. I want to express my thanks to all those who made the Parking Lot Church work. My thanks to our sound people, ushers, greeters, and others who made it possible. God bless you all! To be back inside the building, whether it be for worship, Sunday School, or some other activity will require that we social distance. That means that the auditorium will fill up rather quickly. But, we have places to “overflow” that should suffice. When you arrive for the service, you will be directed to come into the auditorium or directed to the Fellowship Hall depending on how full the auditorium is when your arrive. There are video capabilities in the Fellowship Hall and other rooms in our building where the services can be remotely telecast. The following are the guidelines that we must comply with according to our governor.
*Ensure proper spacing between attendees:
*Keep at least two empty seats between parties in any row, except as follows:
*Two or more members of the same household can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats empty on either side.
*Two individuals who are not members of the same household but who are attending together can sit adjacent to one another, with two seats empty on either side.
*Alternate rows between attendees (every other row left empty).
How long these requirements will have to be observed is unknown. A lot of it depends on the cooperation of those coming to church as well as people across our nation. By cooperation, I mean that we, by practice, learn to distance ourselves to those outside our family units. That does not mean that we become antisocial. It just means that we will socialize in a different way. FOR EXAMPLE: At church, we believe we should dispense with shaking hands and start “winging it!” You know, touch elbows briefly. We are still going to have our “Welcome Time” but we will call it the Northside Wave. Rather than moving around and shaking hands, we will stand in place and “wave” at folks across the way. This will all be different, but necessary. At least for now. Another thing that we must do is not receive an offering by passing the plates. Rather, there will be an offering box at each entrance for your convenience. Hopefully, this will only be a temporary thing! I believe that as we get one Sunday “Under our Belt” so to speak, things will be understood better and will smooth out for us.
So, in advance, thank you for your understanding and cooperation. May we “do all to the glory of God!” Glad to be your pastor, Bro. Clydel
P.S. I understand that some of you may not yet feel comfortable about coming back inside the building. That’s alright. You should not come back in until you are ready to do so. Also, if you are sick, you do need to stay at home. Feel free to wear a mask to church, but it will not be required. And, for the benefit of those who are not ready to come inside, we will continue to broadcast to the parking lot on FM 105.9. Also, we will be telecasting our 11:00 service live on FaceBook.
